010227_0671_0473_l__p Birmingham's Village Players starts off the 2010-11 season with the Tony Award-winning (for best book and music) “The Drowsy Chaperone”, a fantasy-comedy-musical based on the golden age of Broadway musicals. With a man in a chair, a skipping record player, a couple of gangsters (or are they pastry chefs?), a starlet, a way over-the-top Latin lothario and of course, the drowsy chaperone, this production can be best described (in a good fun way) as an accident waiting to happen.
