All About "Around the Town"

The Around the Town blog contains metro area events that either we've (the bloggers) attended in the past, would like to attend, plan to attend or just sound interesting. It is not  a complete event calender or is focused on only events that take place  in the county. Read more.

artapplefest On September 11, 12 & 13, the 2009 Paint Creek Art & Apples Festival will feature over 250 artists from around the country. The talent and range of artists’ mediums at the festival will be nothing short of remarkable. Everything from 2-D Mixed Media, 3-D Mixed Media, Clay, Digital Art, Drawing, Fibers, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal works, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Toys, Wood. (Guess my popsicle stick art didn't make the cut!!!)
Paint Creek Center for the Arts juried selection process ensures the caliber and integrity of the festival’s national assembly of artists and their work. The Art & Apples Festival is ranked in the TOP 30 of Sunshine Artist Magazine's 200 Best in the nation!

There will also be a Apple Pie & Dessert Contest (see site to enter), student (elementary, middle school, and high school) art work, and non-stop entertainment on 3 stages!!!
And, as you would expect,  all the foods you can image at a fair or festival; apple and chicken sausage, cheeseburgers, gyros, hot dogs, apple strudel, cider and donuts, fudge, kettle corn, smoothies, lemonade or chips and salsa. And, don’t forget to take home at least one of Art & Apples’ famous apple pies baked fresh and can be served-up ala mode.

The Paint Creek Center for the Arts has been dedicated to promoting the arts and artistic excellence through a full range of cultural programs including exhibitions, studio art classes, outreach programs, and community involvement projects.
