All About "Around the Town"

The Around the Town blog contains metro area events that either we've (the bloggers) attended in the past, would like to attend, plan to attend or just sound interesting. It is not  a complete event calender or is focused on only events that take place  in the county. Read more.

Detroit Hoedown

 Time
for the 2009 The Downtown Hoedown.
In it's 27th year, this free festival of three days of country music, from a all star selection of some of the most popular acts today and those who will be stars tomorrow.

On Friday, there will be Rodney Atkins, Jack Ingram, Jessica Harp (from the Wreckers) and Kevin Costner & Modern West (yes that Kevin Costner). On Saturday, you will be hearing, The Eli Young Band, Lee Ann Womack, Bomshel, and Michigan's own Josh Gracin. Finally on Sunday, there will be the Trailer Choir, Zac Brown Band, Redhill (with special guest, WXYZ's Stephen Clark) and the headliner to end all headliners, the ageless and timeless WILLIE NELSON.

Of course this is just a partial list of the day's performers. You can find the complete schedule, parking information, and more on the Downtown Hoedown site, at WYCD.
