All About "Around the Town"

The Around the Town blog contains metro area events that either we've (the bloggers) attended in the past, would like to attend, plan to attend or just sound interesting. It is not  a complete event calender or is focused on only events that take place  in the county. Read more.

 Space, the final frontier..............

While Capitan Kirk, Captain Picard or Captain Janeway will not be there, the Detroit Science Center, will present Star Trek, The Exhibition, starting on February 14th. This exhibition contains the world's most comprehensive collection of Star Trek costumes, props and set re-creations. A must see for all, from fans of the original "5 year mission" to Nemesis. You will be able to step inside the universe of Star Trek and be a participant in the legacy that has captivated our imagination for over 40 years.

Highlights of the exhibition include:

  • Sitting on a full-size Enterprise bridge from the original TV series and sit in an original Captain Kirk command chair.

  • Explore original sets from Star Trek: The Next Generation®, including Captain Picard’s quarters and command chair.

  • Ride through the Galaxy in two full-motion flight simulators.

  • A picture opportunity in the iconic Transporter Room.

For more information visit the Detroit Science Center.
