All About "Around the Town"

The Around the Town blog contains metro area events that either we've (the bloggers) attended in the past, would like to attend, plan to attend or just sound interesting. It is not  a complete event calender or is focused on only events that take place  in the county. Read more.

Leaving on track #2 - While this railroad display is much smaller in scale then the event on track #1, the Birmingham Historical Museum brings back its popular model train exhibit for the holidays. A great introduction to trains for younger children, you can watch the trains run, see some vintage model train cars and accessories from the Museum's collection, and learn about Birmingham's train history.

The display is In the Horton Gallery of the Allen House through January 9th, 2009 at the Birmingham Historical Museum.  A short walk from downtown Birmingham, the Museum is a must-see for out-of-town visitors, as well as residents who want to learn more about the history of their City.

Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for seniors, students and Birmingham Historical Society members.
For more information please call (248) 530-1928, or visit the Museum webpage at www.bhamgov.org/museum.
